Members of the Rotary Club of Kensington-Berlin gather at Good Cause gifts to prepare baskets for raffle and auction for the upcoming Rotary and Berlin Fire Departments Charity Golf Tournament on September 18. A week stay at a cottage in the the Berkshires, Romantic Get Away on Block Island, Sports Memorabelia Large Screen TV and much more will be raffled or auctioned. All proceeds to benefit the Fisher House and scholarships for Berlin High students and other local service projects. The Fisher House provides a home for military families to stay while the veteran is getting medical help. They are building a brand new Fisher House at the West haven VA center.
The Rotary Club of Kensington-Berlin and the Berlin Volunteer Fire departments are teaming up for a god cause. Their second annual Charity Golf tournament is set for September 18 at the Timberlin Golf Course. This year, the money raised will benefit the Fisher House CT and Rotary Charities. The Fisher House is a a place where families of Veterans can stay for free while the Serviceman or woman is getting medical care. The Fisher House is building a new facility in West Haven at the VA center.
Members of the Rotary Club of Kensington-Berlin Sunrise recently held a back to school drive. Working with Doug Truit from the Town of Berlin, numerous school items were collected and then distributed to Berlin students. Webster Bank, Liberty Bank, Good Cause Gifts and Home Sweet Home Realty were drop off sites. Thank you to all who contributed and for making this a successful event for the children of Berlin!
The Rotary Club of Kensington-Berlin Sunrise will once again offer a free Amber Alert at the Berlin Fair on Friday, October 2 from 11am to 6pm. In addition, members of the Berlin High School Interact Club will be doing the recycling at the Fair
